World class wire and cable manufacturing company with more than 8000 employees worldwide with presence nearly in every region of the world is now seeking a Plant controller for their manufacturing facility in Mexico.
This position directs and supervises the accounting operations for the manufacturing facility, ensures compliance with corporate and division policy requirements, IRS rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Direct and monitor all accounting internal control efforts for the assigned business unit. Responsible for completion of all internal control self-evaluations and compliance with corporate policies.
• Direct internal plant auditing to assure compliance with established company policies and procedures. Introduce updates as required.
• Continually improve upon reporting of information to meet the needs of management in a competitive World Class environment. Strive to meet the informational demands of customers and suppliers, both internal and external
• Assume fiduciary control of company assets and insure that adequate internal controls are implemented to insure custodial control of assets. Provide leadership and direction in controlling expenses and investment expenditures consistent with the requirements and best interests of the company
• Responsible for the physical control and safeguarding of company assets
• Prepare and monitor various journals affecting plant expenses. Assure preparation of general accounting journals and coordination of month‑end closings
• Actively manages and develops department personnel. Regularly provides guidance and evaluates the performance and professional development of personnel.
• Responsible for the development, control and integrity of company financial statements.
• Participate in the capital process for the plant including review of the capital budget, review and AFEs. Ensure conformance to all Corporate and Divisional requirements.
Required Skills • Degree in business or a related field
• 5 years experience in the position.
• Proven background implementing accounting systems and controls.
• Proficient computer skills including ERP platforms and MS Office.
• Strong leadership focused to promote team integration and communication at all levels.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
